Operation Gratitude and Para Cord Bracelets
A date has not yet been assigned for this event but we know it will be occurring some time in early April. Volunteers will be making bracelets out of para cord (cords from parachutes that can hold up to 550 pounds). Service learning hours will be available for this!

Global Youth Services Day
Red Cross youth and youth advisors from across the Los Angeles Region will be engaged in leadership training and complete projects throughout the day. Games and activities (such as dodgeball) will be occurring throughout the day as well. Global Youth Service Day is an opportunity for youth volunteers to celebrate all the ways they can support the mission of the American Red Cross. If you would like to attend, this even will be occurring on April 22nd.

UCLA Youth Day
The event consisted of numerous activities attempting to show high school students how Red Cross works at the college level, what college life is like, and how to prepare for disasters and such. Throughout the day, volunteers/students are split into groups and given games and activities to participate in. The event will be taking place April 29th from 9am to 5pm.

Ham Radio License Training

A member of our club is available to issue CPR training, but he needs to know who is interested so he can set up a date. Prepare Kids Puppet Shows:

REFUGEE WISH LIST DRIVE
We are launching our first Refugee Wish List Drive! All donation items collected will be directly sent to refugee families settling into their new lives here in Los Angeles. We will be collecting items for refugee families from January 1st through February 28th.

The Red Cross Club is working with other clubs and the Calabasas Library on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm. Volunteers for the Red Cross Club will be at a table making dreamcatchers for the kids.

Volunteer to Install Smoke Alarms and Help Save lives! The Los Angeles Region is hosting fire safety events almost every weekend somewhere in the Region to help families prepare for and prevent home fires. We need volunteers to help install smoke alarms, complete fire safety checklists and create fire escape plans with local families.
